Mitch (Dwayne Johnson) should admit the young Olympic swimmer Matt (Zac Efron) to his rescue team as a PR action. But Matt messes up everything when he questions Mitchs authority. Lifeguard Summer has fallen in love with Matt and wants to help him to find his place in the team. The ex-girlfriend Stephanie gives Mitch a hard time when he falls in love with another woman… Mitch and Matt find out about a criminal conspiracy on their beach! Now everybody must work together and the small problems in the team are only a secondary matter.
